Zoo Bonanza helps superhero battling cancer
Everyone has a superhero and we would like to introduce our little Superhero Johnny Drapalski who is battling a rare childhood cancer known as embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma that forms as a malignant tumor during conception. A Superhero Zoo Bonanza has been planned for this brave 3 year old from 3 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22 at The Utica Zoo, 1 Utica Zoo Way, Utica. There will be a wide variety of activities planned for the afternoon that includes live music, face painting, dance performances, live actors, photo booths, cupcake decorating, raffles, giveaways, food and more. And, admission to the zoo is included with every ticket that has been purchased.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $40 for families – up to four children and two adults, $10 for children, children 5 and younger admitted free. Tickets can be purchased online at superjohnny.eventbrite.com or at the door. Donations can be made at superjohnny.eventbrite.com.
Come out and spend the afternoon with our little Superhero at the Zoo and help kick cancers butt together!
Fact: Each year there are 350 new cases of this cancer that are diagnosed, according to the National Cancer Institute.
