Zombie Prom at Stanley this Saturday

Zombie-Prom-Pit-Ball-013Get out your fake blood, ripped gowns and tuxes, Zombie fanatics. The Utica Zombie Walk, the organization which has held a walk of the undead for the last six years in Utica, is hosting a zombie prom at the Stanley Center for the Arts, 259 Genesee St., Utica. The goal of the prom is to raise money for the theater and this year’s walk. This year’s festivities will be happening on Saturday, May 30th from 6-9 pm.

Zombies ages 16 and up are invited to adorn their best formal attire and lurch out in support of the Stanley and the Utica Zombie Walk. Formal attire isn’t required for admission, but it is suggested. Please note that there will be no makeup provided. While this is a Zombie Prom and one would want to dress up as the perfect zombie; it is not required but you are asked to dress Prom appropriate. Your contribution? Just $5!

Prizes will be offered for the zombie prom king and queen, a dance off, as well as a variety of other categories.  Just like any prom there will be a photographer on hand capturing those perfect zombie prom moments. They will be posted in their photo gallery at http://www.uticazombiewalk.com/. And, don’t worry kids; at this prom there will be beer and wine available for those who are 21 and older.

What prom doesn’t have the best music around? Get ready for DJ This from the Direkt Influence Collective, Marc Rabice aka Marcola and Anthony Owens from Street Rock Mafia and One Fresh Set that will be providing danceable beats for all you zombie goers.

One cool fact about this event and incentive to dress up as the best zombie prom goer is a chance to be featured in an upcoming movie, Zombies in Utica 3.

The Stanley is located at 259 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13501. For more information about the Zombie Prom or the Utica Zombie Walk, please contact Kyle Riecker at uticazombiewalk@gmail.com or visit http://www.uticazombiewalk.com/.
