Wild West Frog Fest & Rodeo 2016
Wild West Frog Fest & Rodeo 2016 brought out Country Music fans of all ages for a day filled with bull riding, cowboys, knew slappin’ music, cold brews and great food. The afternoon was kicked off by Double M Rodeo with some of their crazy cowboys and bull riders hanging on for dear life to see who could last the longest. The dust was flying and the hooves were kicking leaving the crowd in shock seeing how wild the bulls really were. Not only was their kick ass music, but there was a never ending flow of cold drinks that included frozen lemonade and fruit smoothies along with food trucks from across CNY. Big Frog couldn’t leave all the cowboys and cowgirls’ hungry or thirsty!
Throughout the day you could see the fans show their support of Craig Morgan’s loss of his son with their heart signs with their hands.
Lonesome Dove has been taking the local country music scene by storm as of late. They took center stage right after the National Anthem to a fired up crowd that was ready to dance. The guys put on an amazing set that covered some of your favorite country tunes.
Another local favorite Beadle Brothers that are known of keeping their fans entertained as well took the fired up stage next. They play all over Central New York and are a staple at the Tin Rooster at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino. Their fans were there to show their support and gained some new ones as well.
Lindsay Ell had to perform her set while sitting in a chair due to an ankle injury prior to the show but that didn’t slow her down. Strumming the guitar and hitting the notes as if she was standing and working the stage from side to side. She belted out her newest hot single “Buy The Way” along with “Sugar” and “Shut Me Up” She also took time to meet up with her adoring fans at the merch tent to sign autographs and say “howdy.”
What seemed like an eternity for fans waiting on Eric Paslay to come out; they welcomed him with loud screams and their arms up in the air. Everyone in attendance was treated to a set filled with his country popular hits including “She Don’t Love You,” “Friday Night” and “High Class.” Talk about firing up a crowd!
Montgomery Gentry closed the show and had all their fans on their feet cheering USA, USA. They are known for their patriotism and they performed their hit “Something to be Proud of.” Fans put their arms in the air and waved their hats to their favorite songs. A country icon – Gentry had no problem getting the fans involved for one of the biggest country concerts of the summer.
