Utica Zombie Walk Announces Last Crawl
The Utica Zombie Walk will be taking its last crawl on Saturday, Oct. 24 at The Dev located on 41 Devereux St. in Downtown Utica. Zombies have been coming together for the past seven years and will go out in a vampire and zombie showdown. Kyle Riecker, the event organizer made the tough decision and said “The zombie walk is a lot of hard work and requires a great deal of time and resources to pull off effectively. Our team of volunteers is starting to get worn out. Now is a good time to end the walk, on a high note.”
But, help is needed to pull this years’ event off and they are reaching out to all you zombies and vampires. They need to reach their goal of $250 so they can close Devereux Street for the final walk. Also, with the lack of funding they are asking all zombies and vampires to come with their makeup done and dressed in their best dead attire. Makeup service will not be provided.
There is no age requirement for zombies and vampires seeing that this is a free, family event. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the zombie walk starts at 7 p.m. Kid-friendly activities have been planned for before the walk. Those who are 18 and older are encouraged to stick around after the walk for the Undead Dance Party featuring the industrial rock band Draculatron.
We know how generous are fellow zombies and vampires are and with tradition they will be collecting non-perishable food and sanitary supplies for a local non-profit, The Oneida Square Project.
