Triple TREAT of music at Anthology
What a great kick off to summer Concerts at Anthology in Rochester this past weekend with Alyssa Trahan, Chris Bandi & High Valley – they made it a night to remember! Alyssa Trahan, visiting her home town of Rochester all the while doing what her purpose was while in town – entertaining all her fans and gaining as many new ones as possible. She is an aspiring singer songwriter and also does a lot of studio work for other artists too. She may appear young and new to the music scene, but I had the chance to sit and talk with her and the amount of knowledge she has about music is unbelievable. Trahan is currently living in Nashville, TN and trying to make all her dreams come true. On this night it was an impressive performance by Alyssa and her band; they had no problems keeping fans singing and dancing.
Set list Alyssa Trahan: “I Like It” “I Know” “Dibs” “Dog” “Jolene” “Pickle Jar” “My Church” “Truck” “Daisies” “Eviction Notice”
Also opening for High Valley and touring with them is a man full of spunk on stage – Chris Bandi. He is quite impressive how he grabs the attention of the crowd. Bandi is a fast rising star to say the least, starting his music career like many on American Idol. He fell a tad short and didn’t make it, but he didn’t give up. Chris went to show the folks in Nashville what he is all about and pursue his music career. Bandi’s voice and actions on stage will leave you wanting more. This young rising star has a style similar to many country artists, but yet he’s in a league all of his own with his unique style. Let’s face it he’s out to make moves in country music and we have a feeling he will have no problem doing so.
Set list Chris Bandi: “Flash Tat” “The Joker” “Take Me With You” “Whisper” “Check Yes or No” “Gone Girl” “Closer” “Blame Highway” “T-Shirt” “Man Enough”
High Valley, the Canadian based band spent a few moments doing meet & greets with a couple dozen fans before they went on stage. Back to back shows while in Jordan & Rochester. Some fans attended both shows; they just couldn’t get enough of these guys! Brother’s Brad and Curtis have been making music since they were young boys. Joking with the crowd about how they’re sponsored with every hair product company out there. “Joking of course,” but they do love to keep quite the amount of hair gels on hand. They tell their fans bob their heads “I bet your hair will move, but not ours” with a laugh. These guys are an active and fun band to watch, they don’t miss a beat on keeping your attention as to what they might say or do next. Fans were singing along, stomping their feet and clapping – there wasn’t a fan in the venue that wasn’t involved throughout the set. One lucky fan was even brought up to the stage – it was her birthday. They also surprised the drummer with a cake for his birthday as well. Brad and Curtis make this band what it is, they remind you of needing the last 2 pieces for a puzzle – they just fit together. Brad shows more of a serious side on stage while Curtis is just waiting to crack the next joke and make the crowd laugh.
Set list High Valley : “Dear Life” “Come On Down” “County Line” “B My Baby Tonight” “The Only” “Memory Makin” “Soldier” “Young Forever” “Roads We’ve Never Taken” “I’ll Fly Away” “Love You For A Long Time” “She’s With Me” “Make You Mine” “Encore” “I Be U Be”
