The Tram heats up with power duo Sirsy
The Tramontane Café is heating up a power packed punch of rock and soul known only as Sirsy at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5 at their 1105 Lincoln Ave. location in Utica. With Ophelia’s Looking Glass and Adam Hauck warming up the stage. The night will be filled with original music for all ages. And, it’s at The Tram so that means you need to bring your appetite. With their variety of baked goods, mouthwatering sandwiches and their famous hot chocolate you can’t go wrong. We say that makes for a great night filled with treats and music. And, it will only cost you $5 to enter the door; that’s a pretty good deal right there.
This rock duo Sirsy not only impresses audiences with their stellar, hook based songs, but even more so with their multi-instrumental talents. Both Melanie and Rich play several instruments simultaneously, creating a massive sound. Don’t let their size of 2 fool you. They will blow the doors off the building.
Sirsy has been playing since 2003, and within that time frame, they have built up a massive touring schedule, averaging over 200 shows per year. While the band has local roots, Sirsy has been busy growing a name on the national level. Their newest recording, “Coming Into Frame,” has recently been met with critical acclaim. Melanie Krahmer (vocals, drums, and many other things) attributes the cultivation of their sound to their famed producers, Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade (Radiohead, Hole, The Dresden Dolls, The Pixies), saying they’ve helped convey theches energy of their live shows into a recording. “They (fans) are going to notice a different energy level on this record and it’s because of how Paul and Sean worked with us.” “Coming Into Frame” is released on Funzalo records.
If you are a fan of good, live, original music, do not miss this show. See you there!
