The Great Utica Pumpkin Carve
The Great Utica Pumpkin Carve was recently held at Murane Field in Utica. Local residents came out and showed off their pumpkin carving skills. They competed in several categories. The Great Utica Pumpkin Carve raised more than $1,500. A portion of the money went to the Outreach Programs at Our Lady of Lourdes and the parish Boy Scout Troop that focus on scouts from some of the more challenging neighborhoods in Utica.
Here are a list of the winners:
Best Overall – Greg Lowe. Greg also took best overall last year. Greg carved an Indian facemask with the full headdress.
Most Halloween – Teri Jo Mustard and her team carved a haunted house with a picket fence and a witch set inside the pumpkin.
Best Use of Pumpkin – Barbara Obernesser. Barbara carved a face with the tongue sticking out
Best Student Carving – Michaela Scarafile. Michaela carved a werewolf face.
Carver’s and People’s Choice – Teri Jo Mustard
