Competitions

AGGG_oThe State Fair is a great place to indulge your competitive streak! Whether you are into oversized vegetables, antique cars, livestock, cooking, or my personal favorite, home brewing, you will find it all at the state fair. The agricultural side of the fair features blue ribbon winners from all of the county fairs, meaning you are going to see the best of the best battle it out for the blue ribbons and of course, the bragging rights. For a complete list of competitions, along with an entry form (perhaps for your award winning garage brew?) right here.

2015 Bubble Blast Run

BUBBLESunday, August 30th be ready to run bright and early at 8 am at Chevy Court!  For just a $5 entry fee, runners of all ages and ability can partake in the Bubble Blast Run. Yes, it’s a 5K, but it’s got a lot of fun obstacles, including a human car wash, and a giant slip and slide to help you move along to the finish line (or completely distract you from finishing). Not only is this fun for the whole family, but it’s raising money for a hugely important cause- ACR Health’s Youth Services Division and for Operation Walk, which pays for surgery for Americans and others abroad who have no access to health care. Don’t forget to stretch!

The Adventure Zone

WALKERLocated behind the Horticulture Building, the Adventure Zone is the place for all you thrill seeking fair folk. Here, you will find the Walker International Circus, the Historic Train Exhibit (for all you train lovers), The Wolves of the World, the Ejection Seat, and the Power Jump. There are also a handful of other amazing thrill rides, sure to get your adrenaline pumping (and stomach flipping).
