Primus & Clutch nail performance
It was a hot and sticky July evening as Out With Ambler headed to the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC to see the show everyone was talking about, Primus with special guest Clutch. Having seen Clutch a few times before I knew I was in for a great show, but Primus would be a first for me and I’d no real idea what to expect.
Clutch took the stage and had everyone up on their feet. We were treated to “Cyborg Betty,” “A Quick Death In Texas,” “The House That Peterbilt,” “Electric Worry” and many more, including the new live debut of “Vision Quest.” Clutch, as usual, gave their all and the crowd loved it.
As Primus made their entrance I could tell from the anticipation of the crowd that something special was about to happen. I finally was able to experience the Bass God Les Claypool live. Wow. Just WOW.
Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers got us going, followed by some American Life and later found out that “Jilly’s On Smack” and “Jerry Was A Race Car Driver” and “My Name Is Mud.” But no one was leaving until we had a glimpse of “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver!”
Guys, if this summer tour comes to your city be sure to attend! You will have a great time.
