Paslay brought Angels tour to Rochester
Anthology is a fairly new concert venue that knows how to party and bring the fans out. They recently hosted some of the hottest country acts to grace the stage that includes Courtney Cole and Eric Paslay along with Rochester native Alyssa Trahan that recently moved to Nashville to jumpstart her promising musical career. Fans were eager with anticipation for a night of music and even endured the cooler temps outside just so they could get the perfect spot to warm up on the dance floor. And, a huge thank you to Back II Back Entertainment for always brings some of the best Country music acts to Upstate New York.
Local native Alyssa Trahan was excited to come back and play for her hometown and prep the audience for Cole and Paslay. We had a chance to catch up with her before the night started and told us how she is optimistic about her career and has the drive that will place her on big stages someday as a headliner. Many of the locals in attendance did not need an introduction to Alyssa seeing that she is no stranger to the area. And, with her incredible voice that draws you in we can see why. The crowd got into Alyssa’s performance and sang along to their favorite songs. Her set included Country covers mixed with her own originals.
Set list: “I like It,” “Daisies,” “Mama’s, I know,” “My Church,” “Eviction Notice,” “Smoke,” “Pickle Jar,” “Cowboy Take Me Away,” “Jolene” & “I Love Your Truck.”
Courtney Cole is becoming a fan favorite and is on tour with Paslay as of late. A New Orleans native talked during her set about how she grew up catching frogs and other sea life creatures. She even got the crowd laughing with her tale about skipping school and playing hide and seek in Wal Mart. Don’t let her that girl-next-door image fool you – she noticed all the good looking fellas in the crowd. And, then followed that by asking her fans to take a selfie and put it up snapchat and to come find her. Besides her own inventive lyrics, she created a mashup of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” and Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine” and “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.” She kept the concert goers clapping and watching her every move.
Set list: “Loud,” “Ladylike,” “Shania mash-up,” “Free .99,” “Cool Girl, I’m So Lonesome,” “Rain,” “Closer,” “Flyin,” “Millionaires” & “Drunk.”
Eric Paslay has been traveling all over the US on his Angels In This Town tour and in this town he came out to a rowdy crowd that was pumped for not only his music but also his stage show. Paslay knew how to energize the crowd with his catchy hooks along with his energetic dance moves as well. Seeing Paslay up close and personal you realize how much taller he is person –giving him an advantage of being able to see the entire crowd getting down to his music. He didn’t say a whole lot during his show, but then again he was too busy dancing around and entertaining his fans. Paslay did stop once to recognize a young fan that was in the front row. Throughout the night he shook hands with the crowd lined up in front of the stage and made sure he gave that very same little boy a “fist pump.” If you ever get a chance to see Eric Paslay perform live it’s worth every penny. Paslay not only performed songs that he created – he also had a little fun and sang some songs from other artists too. Among those songs were: Jake Owen’s “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and Lady Antebellum’s “Friday Night”. From Paslay to his band, they showed a lot of passion and heart which shined through in their music.
Set list: -“Keep On Fallin,” “Song About A Girl,” “Never Really Wanted (Wicked) Angel Eyes,” “Countryside Of Heaven,” “She Don’t Love You,” “Set Fire To The Rain,” “Water Into Wine,” “Barefoot Bluejean Night,” “Dressed In Black,” “High Class,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” “Backstage Pass,” “Angels In This Town,” “Here Comes Love,” “Wild And Young,” “Like A Song,” “All Or Nothing” & “Less Than Whole, Friday Night.”
