Owl Company – Horizon – Album Review
Owl Company brings modern metal back to basics with their full length release entitled, Horizon. This Brazilian quartet gives those of us who crave a heavy sound that gets you moving, just what we’ve been waiting for … Horizon delivers a variation to today’s heavy rock scene with groove based, catchy guitar riffs and hooks that have you bobbing your head and singing along with every song. Horizon brings a welcome change of pace to the modern metal standard. Owl Company’s aggressive, power rock style combines influences of the heavy metal from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and gives it a modern twist. This band is about raw power and energy, all the while giving you a melodic groove with killer guitar riffs (reminiscent of riff master Toni Iommi) and powerful vocals. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a band with this kind of aggressive, energetic style, while still keeping a heavy, engaging groove that gets you up and moving only to knock you off your feet with the next track. Horizon features ten tracks of killer tunes, each one better than the last.
Owl Company consists of aggressive vocalist Enrico Minelli, guitar riff extraordinaire Felipe Ruiz, heavy grooving bassist Fabio Yamamoto and powerful drummer Thiago Biasoli. These four illustrate what happens when modern metal is influenced by the golden age of heavy rock and it all comes together in a deep groove based, aggressive style. With tracks like Black ‘N’ Blue, Deathrow and Bulletproof Innocence, among others hitting you in the face, you can’t help but be excited to see Owl Company take the world by storm. They will be touring the US and Europe in support of Horizon, so be sure to look for them at a venue near you and don’t hesitate to pick up a copy of Horizon! Owl Comapny will be powering through venues very soon, so be sure to look for them. You don’t want to miss this band!
