Jam Band moe. plays to a full crowd
A great time appeared to be had by all at moe.’s second night of a two day run at the Saranac Brewery in Utica, NY. The courtyard was full of happy fans and a variety of merriment complete with hula hoops and a fair amount of costumes and festival finery which did nothing to distract from a solid performance by a band from which we expect no less.
The sound and event production was tight and it was easy to enjoy the evening hassle free. Highlights included plenty of extended jams, a full encore, and performances of crowd pleasing songs like Moth and tracks like Same Old Story from their newest album, No Guts No Glory. moe. transitioned easily from noodling jammier numbers to more bluesy and progressive songs spanning their collection of material well.
After the show, much of the crowd poured out into the other venues around Varick Street for Slug at the Nail Creek, Wild Adriatic at Lukins, and Conehead Buddha at The Columbia. This two night run by moe. absolutely injected some party into Utica and truly kicked off a great summer on Varick Street.
