Halloween Haunts and Treats Guide 2018

 

Whether you’re looking to be scared out of your gourd or head out to the pumpkin patch to pick a few gourds, Central New York has plenty of festive fall options. We came up with a list for those seeking a more tame option to those seeking a hair raising good time.

 

Trail of Terror and Haunted Woods
Take a ride on a tractor to the quarter mile walking trail filled with ghosts and ghouls. Expect some surprises. 32nd Annual Utica Zoo Spooktacular Harvest Festival
Utica Zoo’s Annual Spooktacular is Oct. 20-21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring the whole family for a weekend of fall fun and spooky good times! Live Music, fall favorite treats, food trucks, trick or treating, games and activities, pumpkin carving and painting contest, and of course over 200 animals on the scenic grounds of the Utica Zoo. Fort Rickey Children’s Discovery Zoo
Fall Fun Festival runs weekends through Oct. 28 (10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.). Admission is $6, children younger than 2 are free. Fright Nights at the Fair
It offers five different scary attractions including Jurassic Dark, The Myers House, The Revenge of “IT”, The Haunted Mansion and Dead Pirates. The Rome Art and Community Center

The Haunted Forest
A “Dark Harvest” walking trail, a wagon ride through the haunted forest and take a spooky ride in a hearse. Zoo Boo
Halloween fun in the daytime sun! The zoo will be transformed into a bustling bash with hauntingly hilarious activities for kids and families to enjoy. This candlelight tour visits all places in the Mansion where ghostly manifestations have been reported over 150 years; including those identified by Ghosthunters(c) in their Halloween 2013 special  on the SyFy network.
