Now, some might not know that Moe.down began in 2000 with just a few bands and give or take about 3,000 people attending. Like any great thing, it has grown into a legend among Upstate New York music festivals in its 15 years. With roots to the Utica area & forming right in Buffalo, they frequent Upstate New York during their tours.
This year’s official line up has been announced including the band who started it all moe., along with O.A.R, Gogol Bordello, Lotus, Soulive, Les Claypool’s Duo De Twang, Jerry Douglas Band, The Rich Robinson Band, Everyone Orchestra, Twiddle, Floodwood, Aqueous, The Werks, Conehead Buddha, American Babies & Wild Adriatic
On site camping is available along with Mr. B’s Luxury Tent Rentals and off site hotel rooms. For the families & sober campers, there will be a “quiet camping area” with plenty of activities, including a kid’s tent, along with a school supply donation drive.
There will be beer vendors for those 21 and over, along with food vendors, a general store for those who forgot anything!
Now, rather you are a 15 year veteran or a new comer there’s some tips to remember; this is a rain or shine show, so please, be ready for extreme heat, cold and wet weather. So pack accordingly, rain gear, summer clothes, sleeping bags, tent, flash lights, first aid kit; there will be first aid on site. No glass, that means even your favorite beer bottles, metal cans are what you should bring. There will be bottle redemption sites in the campgrounds for you to recycle your plastic bottles and your cans for 5 cents apiece. The sale of alcohol and food is strictly forbidden, unless of course it’s a food vendor. The sale and possession of illegal drugs is prohibited. Now you can bring your own food and beverages, but no open fires, this includes Tiki torches; charcoal and propane grills are okay,
We are all set out to throw down at moe.down but please respect the land, the bands, and most importantly yourself & each other. We want to leave nothing behind but footprints! So, please make sure you are familiar with the rules and respect them & have a wonderful time at Moe.Down.
