Gang of Thieves brings a wave of thunderfunk to Lukin’s
Thank you, Vermont, for sending us your Gang of Thieves! This delightful band’s name may indicate some questionable values, but do not be mistaken about the value of the music they are making and the party they are bringing to Lukin’s Brick Oven Pizza this Friday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m.
Let’s jump right into content, shall we? As they say, BOOM, choreographed dancers and all!
The funk forecast: A storm is on the way; a storm of flying dreads and shaking rumps and much musical cavorting. Come one, come all to the fall free-for-all!
If you’re the detail oriented type, you may enjoy learning that this talented group of folks is independently managing this crazy train and still keeping things on slick lockdown. They’re cranking out videos for their new album, Thunderfunk, which they recorded with Grammy Award winning engineer Michael Rosen who has worked with the likes of Santana and Rancid. That album was fan funded so that should say a lot about how people feel about GOT and their music.
Now, they’re touring all around this lovely country and have decided to make us a stop along their way. I’m excited about this and think you might be as well, because this is a different flavor of party band than we generally have in the 315 and they’re the kind of performers that make an impact. You can read all about this and more at the GOT Facebook page, which I enthusiastically invite you to do. If we all get out and show support, we’re more likely to entice GOT and other stellar out of town acts to our neck of the woods. Your presence truly does make a difference. I’d love to see Lukin’s get live and show the V-town boys how we do.
See you on the floor!
