Fuze Rewind: Rodney Atkins & Seth Ennis
Kegs was lit up with action recently with music from opener Smithfield, Seth Ennis & Rodney Atkins. The pair – Smithfield got the crowd hyped up for Mr.Atkins. Usually Smithfield comes as a full band, but they didn’t say where the rest of the band was. Even without two of their members of the band there was no lack in performance.
Seth Ennis was in NY for the first time said it’s a bit cooler up here; it was in the 80’s when he left Nashville. Fairly new to the music scene Seth tells the crowd. He’s written some of his own music and also for some for other artist. During his acoustic set he asked the crowd for a beer, he ended up with three. Not too long after Ennis was looking for someone to help him on stage – he said i need a beatbox who can help? The crowd began raising hands and pointing to their friends. It wasn’t long after a gentleman was helped up on stage. Unfortunately Seth says man who said you knew how to do this with a laugh. He said okay help entertain the crowd. “He did a few dance moves” and kept the crowd laughing. Seth gave him a beer for a good try!
Rodney Atkins band entered the stage in the dark and as soon as the lights came on Rodney spent no time getting right down to business and putting on a show that everyone was there to see. The Nashville star finally made his way to the little town of Jordan. And where Kegs is located sure does fit one of Rodneys songs “Take A Backroad.” Kegs is well known for bringing in the country acts and it’s been a long time coming for Mr. Atkins! Rodney doesn’t leave anything on the table and gives the crowd everything that they came to the show to see. A family man that brings his youngest son and wife along on tour shows what life & music truly means to him. And it all shows through words of his music, and actions on stage. Atkins and the entire band made several rounds around the stage giving fans high 5’s. It was a night to remember for the fans and for the many that had a chance to see Rodney up close with the meet & greet after the show. The concert was held in honor of the Vets, Rodney showed much appreciation for all who have fought for our country.
