Free Wildlife Festival at Utica Zoo
Lion and tigers and bears OH MY! The New York Power Authority’s is hosting their annual Wildlife Festival at the Utica Zoo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10. This event is for everyone: animal lovers, families, the perfect place for an afternoon date, the eager child that wants to learn about the wild, grandparents taking their favorite grandchildren and well EVERYONE! The day will be filled magic by Jim Okey, the champion of champions in chainsaw sculpting – Mark Tyeo, child safety with Child ID Cards, the artistic, funniest and super creative face painting clowns – by Coco and Smiley the Clowns, the crafty local vendors selling their wares and we can’t forget the animals! There will be animal shows throughout the day where you will be able to learn all about your favorite animals and maybe even have some fun with them. The festival will take place rain or shine so make sure you check the weather before heading out. And, here is something really cool – the first 2,000 guests are free! So, get there early. In case the parking lot fills up there will be additional parking located at the Parkway Rec Center with shuttles back and forth. The zoo is located at 1 Utica Way in Utica.
