10732679_10152499327666705_793658823_oThe holiday shopping season is in full swing, and so is the season of craft shows.

These showcases of local artisans and crafters are not only a great way for these vendors to display and sell their work, but they also give local gift seekers a variety of unique options for the holidays.

A new market has popped up on the scene this year, the Traveling Trunk Show of CNY. This smaller-scale show will stop at four local libraries this holiday season, and each venue will feature different crafters from across the region. Ten percent of all profits will be donated to the library for use of the community space.

“We are hoping to give shoppers another way to find unique, local, handmade gifts while supporting our libraries at the same time,” says Marissa Olivera, one of the organizers of the Traveling Trunk Show.

Some of the handcrafted gifts that can be found at the Traveling Trunk Shows include: jewelry, hair accessories, knitwear, hula hoops, tutus, planters, maple goods, vintage wear, canvas prints, organic skincare and ornaments. The Trunk will travel to the following locations:

Dunham Public Library, 76 Main St., Whitesboro: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1
Kirkland Town Library, 55½ College St., Clinton: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15
Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., Rome: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22
Utica Public Library, 303 Genesee St., Utica: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6
