Fall destinations – more than just ‘Hocus Pocus’
Whether you’re looking to be scared out of your gourd or head out to the pumpkin patch to pick a few gourds, Central New York has plenty of festive fall options. We came up with a list for those seeking a more tame option to those seeking a hair raising good time.
Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses

The Great Utica Pumpkin Carve

North Star Orchards

Fort Rickey Children’s Discovery Zoo
Fall Fun Festival runs weekends through Nov.1. Admission is $5, children younger than 2 are free. Activities include a hay bale maze, pumpkin painting, pedal tractors, oat-filled activity station, pony rides ($2.50), and wagon rides ($2.50) and more. Sylvan Beach Amusement Park
Halloweekends on Friday and Saturday nights starting Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. Parking is free and the spooky attractions range in price from $6.99 for Scream Land to $31.99 for the Ultimate Mega Pass. Fright Nights at the Fair

The Remsen Depot Corn Maze

The Rome Art and Community Center
