Devour the Day chewed up The Lost Horizon
When you think of Devour the Day you may think of their past music from their album “Time & Pressure” featuring such hits as “Good Man” and “Faith”… but Blake, Joey and the rest of the band have been up to a lot more lately. DTD’s fans have highly anticipated the sophomore release of their new album and so far it has not disappointed fans, radio stations and media alike. The new full length album – S.O.A.R. (Suffer, Overcome and Recover) has hit the Internet, stores and air waves like a thunder bolt featuring the track “Lightning In The Sky” which was co-wrote by DTD and Rob Caggiano of Volbeat and formerly of Anthrax. With everything DTD has going on with the new album release … they have also hit the ground running on their first headline tour promoting the new album and recently making a stop at The Lost Horizon in Syracuse. Opening the night were some great local bands: Sampere, Kilter and a fresh out of the gate metal band named Resilience playing their very first show. Team Fuze covered the DTD show so we could catch up with the guys, get some pics of course and we got a few moments to interview front man Blake Allison about their new album, tour and much more. One thing we have to say is – not many bands give back to the production, event staff and media attending shows such as these guys do … Blake, Joey and David came back out after their sound check prior to the doors opening and played a 20 minute 4 song acoustic set that included the songs “Lightning In The Sky” and “Quicksand” which we believe should be their second release of the new album – Blake sends chills down your spine with the rasp and tone in his voice that reminds you of Kurt Cobain.
Please take a moment to enjoy the interview with Blake and the pics from the night. Cheers!
