Country music shines at HALO Hoedown
The 9th Annual HALO Hoedown will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Herkimer VFW located at 129 Mohawk St. in Herkimer. Country music will be taking over the airwaves from some of the best local bands that have been telling us stories through their music and energizing our souls with their beats for quite some time now and are no strangers to the stage. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes because there will be plenty of musical acts to entertain you. Set to perform are: Grit ‘n Grace, Lonesome Dove, Fulton Chain Gang, Moonshine Junkies and Tompkins Drive.
Admission is $7 for Adults, Kids 10 and younger along with Veterans and active military members are free. For those who are not familiar with H.A.L.O they are a Not-For-Profit organization that helps our fury little feline friends. Please also consider bringing a donation of Friskies canned or dry food and kitty litter.
A HALO merchandise table will feature their limited edition 9th Annual Halo Hoedown T-shirts, brought to you by A&P Master Images. They will also have face painting provided by Scott that is free but if you like what you see you might want to throw him a couple bucks.
If you get hungry after all the dancing and singing you will be doing they will have food available to purchase along with a cash bar. Raffles will be taking place all day including their infamous CHEER raffle. There will also be various rescue groups and vendors on hand. Come out and support your local businesses – you might find a hidden treasure or two.
