A wee bit of Irish culture at Great American Irish Festival

IRISHWhether you are Irish or not you don’t want to miss the Great American Irish Festival this weekend which takes place Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26 at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds, 133 Cemetery St., Frankfort. The Fairgrounds will look and sound more like the Emerald Isle this weekend that brings tens of thousands of people to Frankfort to soak in a bit of Irish culture.

The annual festival is a feast for the senses. As always, there will be an array of food vendors, including Irish fare, as well as beer tents and a wine garden. Merchandise vendors from across the United States and Ireland will be selling Irish and Celtic crafts, clothing, jewelry and more.

And then there’s the non-stop music that the festival is known for. Much of the emphasis this year is on introducing festival-goers to some exciting new acts.

So, come out and celebrate everything Irish this weekend!

Food Drive

Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food item for The Central New York Veteran’s Outreach Center (CNYVOC) and The Great American Irish Festival Food Drive this weekend. All donations will help our Veterans and their families in need. Donations can be dropped off anytime during the hours of the festival.

The CNYVOC was formed to provide and conduct charitable, educational, social, and housing services for Veterans in need. The food pantry is open to any Veteran, Monday through Friday, 8AM until 4PM. The CNYVOC Food Pantry relies on private donations throughout the year to support our Veterans.
