Zombies invade downtown Utica for one night
CNYhomepage.com, Direkt Influence, MicroCosm House, Trailer Trash Productions, The Stanley Theater and The DEV present the 6th Annual Utica Zombie Walk & Night of the Raving Dead on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 5 to 9 p.m.
What’s a Zombie Walk, you ask? It’s an organized gathering of individuals generally seeking to promote an event or cause who gathers together in costume for what is essentially a parade. In this case, all are obviously ghoulishly garbed with a taste for your insides, but don’t let that intimidate you from attending this incredibly fun annual event! On Oct. 18th, the beautiful Stanley Theater downtown will again be overrun by the decayed flesh of brain hungry zombies before, as, and after they depart at 7 p.m. to stalk down Genesee Street. Luckily, it’s not too late to get in on the action!
Registration for make-up application is full and closed. Space in the walk does not need to be reserved and all are welcome. One nonperishable food item, personal sanitary item, or pet food or accessory is required for entry into The Stanley on the night of the Utica Zombie Walk, for donation to one of the selected charities (The Oneida Square Project and Incarcerated Flavors and The Stevens-Swan Humane Society of Oneida County. This is an all age’s event!
Prior to the start of the leprous lurch (5 to 7 p.m.) The Stanley has tons of family fun with a chance to be in the upcoming commercial for The Walking Dead on WUTR, a pumpkin and gourd giveaway from Incarcerated Flavors and a performance by the always epic Jayne Dracula from Syracuse, NY. After the walk (8 to 9 p.m.) the band Wicked will perform and a screening will be held of the new film Zombies in Utica 2.
After the festivities have ended at The Stanley, zombies over 21 years of age are invited to continue the evening at the Night of the Raving Dead at The Dev at 41 Devereux St., for a dance party sure to last long into the night. Entry is $5 which will also be donated to the above referenced charities.
Contact the Zombie Walk by email at email@example.com, find them on Facebook, visit the Web site at www.cnyhomepage.com/UZW and get involved! This event is sponsored by CNYhompage.com, Incarcerated Flavors and the Oneida Square Project.
