Sample some of the best wines at Madison County Wine Festival
On Saturday, May 9 several Central New York wineries will be showcasing their wares at the 2nd Annual Madison County Wine Festival in Oneida, NY. The festival will be held at the Kallet Civic Center, 159 Main St. from 2-9 p.m. The proceeds from this year’s festival will be donated to Liberty Resources, Inc. to benefit their Victims of Violence program. This program is dedicated to aiding the victims of violence and sexual violence as well as honoring survivors. On the event Web site there is a form you can fill out to obtain free tickets for these heroes. www.mcwinefest.com
Summit Chrystler Dodge Jeep Ram will have three vehicles parked in front of the Kallet Civic Center as you enter the event. For each person who test-drives one of these vehicles “around the block,” Summit Chrystler Dodge Jeep Ram will donate $10 to the Victims of Violence program. Last year $1,000 was donated to an area hospital and this year they hope to give even more.
The VIP Sampling Session begins at 2 p.m. and tickets are $50 each. The General Admission Sampling Session begins at 3 p.m. and costs $20 per person. If you come as a group of 6 or more people, there is a group rate, each person pays $15. To help ensure the safety of its attendants the festival is offering a special $5 rate for designated drivers. The event lasts until 9 p.m. All attendants must be 21 or older to enter, photo I.D. required.
To add to your enjoyment, any wine offered for tasting is available for sale, and will be held at the Wine Holding Area until your departure so the event can be enjoyed without numerous trips to the car or having to carry fragile, heavy bottles around.
Come out by yourself or with a group of friends and loved ones, and show your support and help to celebrate the strength of Victims of Violence while you enjoy the finest offerings from several of Central New York’s best wineries.
