FUZE REWIND: Frog Fest 31
Frog Fest 31 at Utica-Rome Speedway brought out country music fans from near & far to enjoy a day of music. Many local bands kicked off the day for headliner Randy Houser which included Blaine Holcomb who is from CNY and has been in Nashville the last 4 years or so. Rylee Lum one of the openers at just the young age of 12 is already off to put shows on in Nashville. Writing and singing his own songs this young man will be in country music for many years to come. Joe Vandresar & Eddie Arcuri, Tompkins Drive, Skeeter Creek, Lonesome Dove all got the crowd engaged and had them singing along. The day turned out perfect and Mother Nature blessed the event with sunshine and warm temps.
Writing music and singing it is what the fans love about these local bands, not just that they’re able to get a spot on the big stage. But being able to show off their talent like the top Nashville stars and able to do it right here local in CNY. Over the years of photographing bands and talking with them, many say they would rather stay in New York and keep entertaining here locally.
The crowd was fired up with good reason to be, Randy Houser is back stage and fans are waiting patiently to see him perform. His songs “How Country Feels” and his new album Magnolia are what fans came to hear and Randy sure didn’t disappoint. Between meeting with fans and giving them a show to remember for a long time Mr. Houser will also remember what it was like to be at Frog Fest. Maybe word will spread about how CNY knows how to party and artist will be making a line in “who’s next” to show NY what they got!”
