Cultures & Creatures take over Utica Zoo
The Utica Zoo brings cultures and animals from all over the world together for a day filled with food, art, music and dance from Nepali, Burmese, Somali-Bantu, Latino, Vietnamese and Bosnia from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 at the zoo located at 1 Utica Zoo Way. Cultures & Creatures is a free event will take place rain or shine.
Cultures & Creatures pairing:
Nepali: Red Panda
Burmese: Burmese Python
Latino: Spider Monkeys
Malagasy: Ring Tailed Lemurs
Vietnamese: Vietnamese Pig
Bosnian: Glass Lizard.
There will be a booth set up at each culture and creature pairing where visitors can sample food (while supplies last), create arts & crafts, and learn about their language.
They will also have food and drink vendors to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst. The following food vendors will be available: Holy Smoques BBQ Fusion, The Grapevine Gyros, Papa John’s Pizza, Sarita Ruiz Empanadas, Sammy’s Country Wagon Beverage Cart (all natural smoothies and specialty coffee drinks), Voss’ at the Zoo, and Lucky Mey’s shaved ice slushies.
So, bring the family out for a day of fun all while learning about animals and other cultures.
