Cinderella’s Restaurant, Bar & Suites

CIND1Cinderella’s Restaurant, Bar & Suites is nestled in the quaint beach town of Sylvan Beach, NY. It’s everything you would expect and more for a beach restaurant with their beach décor, mouthwatering seafood selections, thirst quenching drinks – we recommend their hand squeezed lemonade, weekly specials like their all you can eat wings for all you wing lovers out there for only $15 on Tuesdays starting at 3 p.m., and their homemade desserts that are hard to resist. Cinderella’s isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a destination with their rooms for you to stay in while you are out for just a night on the town or if you are making it a vacation. They also have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the beautiful weather of Central New York. And, let’s CIND2not forget they have an ice cream window. A perfect place to cool down after you been on the beach all day.

We recently were able to sit down and were treated to some of the best food in town. We started off with appetizers and for once we didn’t try the mozzarella sticks – the loaded potato skins looked too good to pass up and the chubby pretzels – the name says it all – was a must try.

Loaded Potato Skins: served with 4 large halves of a potato smothered with a combination of mozzarella and cheddar cheese with crispy pieces of heavenly bacon and sour cream. I can never have too much cheese and added a little bit of the melted cheese that came with the pretzels. I know what you are thinking – overkill – right? Nope, it was amazing! You have to try it!

Chubby Pretzels: How can anyone not order these with a name like that? Soft pretzels baked to perfection, topped with Sea salt with a dipping nacho cheese sauce. They were hard to put down and tasted simply delicious.

After taking a break we went on to the dinner. We had such hard time selecting what to eat with the vast selection of dinner entrees. But, we decided to go with our waitress recommendations: French Cut Pork Chops and Ravioli Lasagna. And, she was dead on. They both were perfect and just what we were looking for.

French Cut Pork Chops: You can chose from three different seasonings – Italian (my pick), Buffalo or Cajon. This 12 oz. pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was charred on the outside and juicy in the inside. The seasoning was the perfect complement to the chop. Now, this might sound funny to some people but I can’t have pork without dipping it in applesauce. In my world they go together like peanut butter and jelly. You have to try it. I also selected mashed potatoes with gravy as my side. I kind of consider myself an expert when it comes to those creamy delights and these creamy potatoes didn’t disappoint.

Ravioli Lasagna: We love pasta and we love anything Italian and we were intrigued with lasagna made out of raviolis. I can’t believe we never thought of that before. Layers of little “pillows” of cheesy goodness sprinkled with Italian Sausage topped with more cheese and sauce. Every bite had a little bit of everything. Make sure you have a napkin close by – you might have cheese dangling from your chin. We had to add meatballs to go with it. The sauce had a little kick with chunks of goodness. The presentation was beautiful – you almost felt bad diving into it but not that bad.

I can’t believe I am going to admit to this but yes we had dessert after all that – we did go home with plenty of to go boxes. They have a new dessert menu that is must try. We sampled a few desserts they were heavenly.

Southern Apple Melt Down: If you love anything apple related this is the dessert for you. It is served in a deep fried shell with apple pie ice cream with pieces of pie crust throughout and swirls of cinnamon, warm apple topping, and a warm drizzle of caramel, topped with sprinkles, walnuts and whipped cream. It might sound like a lot but it was so refreshing and hard to put it down.

Fudgeeeee Cake: This cake is so good it’s deadly. Super moist chocolate cake with little chocolate chips topped with a raspberry sauce. A little taste of heaven in your mouth.

I just have to mention how awesome our waitress Alyshia was. She always had a smile on her face, was extremely knowledgeable and was eager to help us. Thank you!
