Boonville-Oneida County Fair Kicks off Tuesday

Get your families together, and head out to Boonville for the 127th Boonville-Oneida County Fair, “Blue Jeans and Country Dreams.” The Boonville-Oneida County Fair takes place Tuesday, July 28 through Sunday, Aug. 2 at the Fairgrounds located at 222 Schuyler St. in Boonville. This year’s fair has lots in store for everyone and here are 5 reasons you need to be there!

Josh-TurnerJosh Turner Saturday, Aug. 1st
Grammy award winning country sensation Josh Turner will be taking the headlining spot on the Grandstand Saturday night. You may have heard of him, you know- just several major country hits such as, “Would You Go With Me, “Time Is Love,” “All Over Me,” along with many others. Turner is a multi-platinum selling artist, and is also one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry. Tickets for the event are $30 for General Admission, and $35 for Trackside seating. Get them here. Also stay after the show for FIREWORKS!

Tractor Pulls
TRACTORLike any great fair in the great state of New York, there must be a solid representation of our beloved farming equipment and celebrate how awesome our tractors are. Tractor Pulls will be happening throughout the week at the fair. There will even be a Kiddie Tractor pull for our budding agriculturalists! Children’s Day is Tuesday, July 28th, so look for the pull at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Coleman Bros. Midway

RIDENo fair is complete without a stellar selection of rides. This year Coleman Bros. Midway will be handling the fun. The rides kick off at noon on Tuesday, with specific wristband purchases for unlimited ride times. For a full schedule of Midway pass times, click here. Take advantage of the wristband deals because you know one ride is never enough!

Fair Food

While the vendor list is still compiling, you know there will be an ample supply of great food at the Boonville Oneida County Fair. This is CNY after all. I recently spotted a vendor at a local fair that served deep fried Snickers wrapped in bacon. Where else can you survive solely on fried onions, barbecue, deep fried oreos, twinkies, and pickles, and giant tubs of lemonade? The fair! That’s where!

ticketI know, I’d be remiss not to mention the livestock at these events, but you guys will go for a good bang for your buck, and stay for the livestock shows, right? First of all, Adult day tickets are only $4 in advance and $5 at the gate. Children 12 and under are FREE. That’s a lot of extra cheddar to buy ride wristbands, Josh Turner tickets, and some sort of deep fried awesome. For just $20, you can purchase a fun pass which gains you entry for the entire week, if you so fancy. Why not? There’s something awesome going on every day at the fair!
